Matthew Thurlow

Matt leads the firm's intellectual property practice and provides clients with a broad range of IP services, including prosecution, litigation and counselling advice.

His practice primarily involves advising clients on global IP management strategies and helping clients secure rights in their inventions through drafting and prosecuting patent applications. He also regularly assists clients to search and register trade-marks and provides related advice on portfolio management and enforcement.

In addition to helping clients manage their global IP portfolios, Matt provides opinions on the freedom to operate in various fields of technology and advises on licensing matters.

Matt also represents clients in contentious IP matters ranging from trade-mark opposition proceedings to patent, trade-mark and copyright infringement matters.

Matt's practice also includes advising on a wide variety of federally and provincially regulated regulatory and privacy law matters about various industries.
