Bio
Irwin is an expert problem solver and is known for his practical approach to complicated legal matters.
Irwin is a senior partner in our Construction Group. He is known by his peers as a tenacious and proficient litigator with a broad trial and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) practice.
Irwin is very experienced in the resolution of cases. His practice is focused primarily on construction litigation. Irwin also practices in the areas of employment law, commercial leasing litigation, and general commercial litigation. For over 20 years Irwin has lectured on construction law and commercial leasing remedies to industry experts.
Getting to know his clients and their business is important to Irwin. He continues to build strong, long-lasting relationships. As a result, clients seek him out regarding other matters including employment, leasing and debt enforcement issues.
He has appeared in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Ontario Court of Appeal, Federal Court of Canada and has appeared before various administrative tribunals including the Human Rights Commission.
A partner at GSNH for over 25 years, Irwin gained the respect of his colleagues when he became one of the managing partners of the firm.
Irwin has been recognized in the 2025 edition of Best Lawyers in Canada.
