Jordan Cohen

Jordan is a graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School and has been in practice since 1982, primarily in the areas of real estate and corporate/commercial law.

He has extensive experience in the acquisition, financing, leasing and sale of commercial, industrial and residential properties. He regularly represents financial institutions in all aspects of secured lending and enforcement in both the real estate and corporate setting.

In his practice, he also acts for entrepreneurs and private companies in the establishment, organization and financing of their operations throughout Canada. In particular, he has guided many American corporations in the acquisition or establishment of Canadian businesses and in working with their local advisors to create appropriate structures and financing arrangements while working with both Canadian and U.S. lenders.

He is also one of the primary contacts in the firm for Mackrell International, an international law firm referral network with over 90 firms in more than 60 countries. This network membership enables the firm to conduct multi-jurisdictional transactions more effectively. Membership in this organization also allows the firm to refer its clients to known counsel in foreign jurisdictions when the need arises.

Jordan is active in the local Bar. He was a long-time member and officer of the Real Property Executive of the Ontario Bar Association and occasional speaker on continuing education in real estate matters at both the Ontario Bar Association and the Law Society of Ontario. He is the past President of the Ontario Chapter of the Canadian Associates of Ben-Gurion University, and currently sits on its national Board of Directors. Jordan has been recognized in the 2022, 2023 and 2024 editions of The Best Lawyers in Canada as a leading lawyer in the area of Real Estate law.

Jordan and his wife have three married children and are the proud grandparents of 2 boys. In his spare time, he is an avid tournament bridge player, a Sapphire Life Master in the American Contract Bridge League and the winner of both Canadian and North American Bridge Championships.
