Loopstra Nixon LLP Ranked Among Canada’s Fastest-Growing Companies

Canadian Business and PROFIT today released their definitive list of Canada’s Fastest-Growing Companies.

Each year Canada’s leading business magazine teams up with Canada’s leading current affairs magazine, Maclean’s, to publish the PROFIT 500 ranking of Canada’s 500 Fastest-Growing Companies.

Loopstra Nixon was the largest law firm on this year’s list.

“It is never easy to earn a spot on this prestigious list, but this year’s applicant pool was the most competitive yet,” says Deborah Aarts, the PROFIT 500 program manager. “This year’s winners demonstrate the resilience, innovation and sheer management smarts it takes to build a thriving business today. Canada – and the world – needs more entrepreneurial success stories like these.”

Founded in 1973 by Charles Loopstra and Sandy Nixon, Loopstra Nixon LLP has grown to become Ontario’s premier mid-market business and public law firm. With 43 lawyers and over 100 employees, the firm serves as legal counsel to public and private companies, financial institutions, insurers, municipal governments and a number of not-for-profit organizations and charities.

“We are absolutely honoured to be included among so many other wonderful entrepreneurial companies” says the firm’s Managing Partner, Allan Ritchie. “I would attribute our continued success to the strength of our team members and the unwavering commitment of our lawyers and staff to delivering top quality client service within a reasonable fee structure”.

It is this commitment that has propelled the tremendous growth of Loopstra Nixon. During the last five years, the firm has more than doubled the size of its legal team, adding top notch talent to bolster existing Business and Public law practice groups and launch complementary practice groups in the areas of Bankruptcy and Insolvency Law, Intellectual Property Law and Tax Litigation, to further expand the suite of services offered to its business clients. In addition, earlier this year the firm opened up satellite offices in Buffalo and New York City to keep up with client demand for inbound Canadian law advice in those centres and in early 2018 will complete a major expansion of their west-Toronto headquarters to accommodate the future growth of the firm.
