LN Named Recipient of the 2016 Pinehurst Club Award

Thursday, May 12, 2016 - Loopstra Nixon partner Sandy Nixon accepted the Pinehurst Club Award on behalf of the firm at the annual Pinehurst Club Breakfast at the Royal York Hotel.

The award is in recognition of our firm’s work as pro-bono counsel to Sleeping Children Around the World (SCAW), a well-known Toronto charity Loopstra Nixon is proud to have been affiliated with for over 15 years. In addition to our pro-bono counsel, SCAW is a regular recipient of our annual holiday charitable donations.

The Pinehurst Club was inaugurated in 2008 by a group of business leaders, who wanted to ensure that future generations of children in developing countries would have access to the comforts of a bedkit provided through the charitable efforts of Sleeping Children Around The World. The Pinehurst Club breakfast brings together corporate sponsors, business leaders, donors, volunteers, and special guests to raise funds that help cover administrative costs for Sleeping Children Around the World, which allows 100% of all bedkit donations to reach children in developing countries.

In 2016, Sleeping Children Around the World will deliver over 62,000 bedkits, bringing the total number of bedkits distributed since 1970 to over 1,500,000 in 34 countries.  You can learn more about the work of SCAW here.
