Daniel Paperny and Matthew Rendely Bring Their Estate Litigation Practice to Loopstra Nixon
The firm’s Wills, Trusts & Estates Team expands its dispute resolution capabilities with the addition of two new partners.
Daniel Paperny has developed a busy practice advising fiduciaries and beneficiaries; advancing dependant support claims and will challenges; passing accounts; navigating power of attorney disputes; and in all areas related to estate and capacity litigation. He takes a compassionate approach to solving his clients’ challenges and he looks for innovative solutions that achieve optimal results and reduce stress for all parties. Daniel is licensed to practice in both Ontario and British Columbia and he has appeared as counsel before various levels of Court in both Ontario and BC, and before the Ontario Consent and Capacity Board. Daniel has been recognized as a leading lawyer in estate litigation by Post City Magazines and Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in Canada.
Matthew Rendely practices exclusively in the areas of wills, estates, trusts, powers of attorney, guardianship, and capacity related litigation. He is a strong and passionate advocate for his clients and has successfully represented clients at all levels of court, including the Supreme Court of Canada. He has been recognized as a rising talent in several legal directories including Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in Canada and the “Private Wealth Disputes – Canada” category in the Chambers and Partners High Net Worth Guide. In 2021, Matthew was awarded the Hoffstein Book Prize by the Ontario Bar Association (OBA) for his contributions and achievements to the area of wills, trusts and estates. He currently serves as the Vice-Chair on the OBA’s Elder Law Executive committee.
