R. Graham Phoenix presents at the LSO’s “Commercial Priorities for Real Estate and Business Lawyers
R. Graham Phoenix, Partner and Head of the firm’s Bankruptcy, Insolvency and Restructuring Practice, joined a multidisciplinary team of commercial lawyers as part of the faculty at the Law Society of Ontario’s “Commercial Priorities for Real Estate and Business Lawyers 2019” Conference on October 28, 2019.
Graham’s presentation was titled “Terminating Contracts in Insolvency: Process and Priority” and provided insight and guidance to conference participants on the fate of contracts in bankruptcy, insolvency and restructuring proceedings – including a discussion of the recent case of Curriculum Services Canada (2019 ONSC 1114), in which a landlord lost its right to claim for the balance of the term of a lease following the bankruptcy of the tenant.
This Law Society of Upper Canada CPD programme was held on October 28, 2019 in Toronto and was attended in-person and online by more than 250 members of the legal community in Ontario, Canada and abroad.
